First Light Reflections
Fresh hope for a new month with Faith to Follow Ministries
Hello friend,
There’s something about May—the quiet shift from heavy winter to the first true warmth of spring. Even if life still feels messy or uncertain, new beginnings are stirring.
For me, it’s been a season of rebuilding. A season where God’s goodness has shown up in quiet, faithful ways… not always in the big breakthroughs I hoped for, but in small mercies:
a conversation that soothed my anxious heart,
a sunrise after a restless night,
a quiet whisper from God reminding me He’s not done with my story.
I’ve been thinking about how easy it is to miss the gentle ways God keeps showing up. Not always in loud breakthroughs, but in slow mornings, small graces, and tiny signs that He’s still writing good stories in the quiet.
Maybe you’ve felt this too—the almost invisible ways God keeps moving, even when the world feels silent.
That’s why I’m starting something new just for you, my email and blog community.
At the start of each month—on the first Friday—I’ll be sharing a quiet moment of reflection called First Light Reflections. Each one will offer a short scripture, a gentle thought, and a journal prompt to help you pause and notice how God is moving in your life, even in quiet or uncertain seasons.
I created this rhythm because so many of us (myself included) can get swept up in the demands and noise of the month ahead. These reflections will be a soft place to return, realign your heart, and seek the small mercies God is offering as a new month unfolds.
Scripture for May
“The Lord’s mercies never end; they are new every morning.”
— Lamentations 3:22-23
Reflection:
What if, instead of waiting for the big signs and milestones, we paid attention to the small mercies?
The ones that remind us:
You are not forgotten.
You are not behind.
You are becoming.
Journal Prompt for May:
Where have I seen small mercies this past month—and where do I sense God inviting me to trust His goodness now?
A quiet blessing for your heart:
You’re not behind. You’re becoming. And this month holds fresh mercies for you.
Stay close,
