When Faith Feels Costly—But Still Worth It

Dear Sister,

This wasn’t the email I planned to send.

I had posts scheduled. Graphics prepared. A calendar mapped out for the return of Faith to Follow Ministries next week. But all of that changed when my social media accounts were hacked and disabled—without warning and without a clear path to recovery.

What followed was days of trying to prove my identity, hours of lost content, and a mental, emotional, and spiritual weight that caught me completely off guard.

I was exhausted. Discouraged. And honestly, deeply frustrated.

Because here’s the truth: every time I step out in faith to follow what God has placed on my heart, I feel resistance. I’ve learned to expect growing pains—but this week, they cut deeper than I expected.

So I paused.

Through a timely Spiritual Growth course from my friend, Ashley Morgan Jackson, I opened my Bible to Revelation 2:3–7 and read these words:

“You have persevered and endured hardships for the sake of my name, and have not grown weary. But I have this against you: You have abandoned the love you had at first… Remember, repent, and return.”

And I realized something.

I had been trying to power through instead of pressing in. I was inviting God into the big picture—but missing Him in the little details. I was trusting Him with the dream, but not always with the distractions, detours, or delays.

Maybe you’ve been there too.

Maybe you’re there now.

Maybe you’ve stepped out in faith—only to feel like everything is falling apart.

Maybe your spiritual rhythm feels off, or you’re tired of waiting, or wondering why your obedience seems to be met with silence.

If that’s you, I want you to know: you are not alone. And your faith is not in vain.

God is still moving, even here.
Even when it’s quiet.
Even when it’s hard.
Even when the accounts are hacked and the plans fall apart.

Faith to Follow Ministries will do what God designed it to do—because He is faithful to finish what He starts.

And friend, so can you.

Your calling isn’t canceled by resistance. It’s refined by it.

Let’s keep going together.

And if your heart feels a little heavy today, here’s a prayer I’m praying over you too:

For the woman who…

feels weary from the weight of trying,

who’s walked in obedience but still met resistance,

who wants to trust again but is afraid it won’t be enough—

Lord, draw her close again.

Let her remember Your faithfulness, repent where needed, and return to You—not in shame, but in love.

Give her courage to invite You into the little things, to lay down the covers she’s used to protect herself, and to receive the grace that’s still waiting for her.

Even in the mess.

Even in the unknown.

Even here.

Amen.

Thank you for still being here. I’ll be back soon with updates, resources, and more truth to carry you through. But for now, I’m resting in this:

God never wastes a surrendered step.

With love and faith to follow,

Regina Piper Brown
